Shipment software built for the day things go wrong

Venaxx came to us in 2021 for a logistics application and website. We are still working on it — 8K+ shipments later, through every exception the real world produces.

The problem

The happy path is about a tenth of the work

A shipment that is collected, scanned, moved and delivered on schedule needs almost no software. The system exists for the other cases: the address that is wrong, the driver who cannot find the gate, the consignment split across two vehicles, the customer who changes the delivery window while the van is already moving. Most logistics software is built for the happy path and then patched, exception by exception, until nobody trusts the status field. We model the exceptions first, because they are what operations staff spend their day on and what customers judge you by. Venaxx has been in continuous development since 2021 for exactly that reason: the operation keeps meeting new edge cases, and the software keeps absorbing them.

What is included

What we build for logistics operators

01

Shipment and consignment tracking

One record per consignment that survives splits, merges, transfers and returns — rather than a status column that quietly stops meaning anything.

02

Driver and field apps

Scanning, proof of delivery, signatures and photographs, queued offline. Warehouses and loading bays are exactly where signal disappears.

03

Operations dashboards

What is late, what is stuck, what needs a human now. Built around the questions a dispatcher actually asks rather than a table of everything.

04

Customer-facing tracking

Live status your customers can check themselves, which removes the single largest category of inbound support calls.

05

Export and trade operations

Order capture, documentation and ERP integration for cross-border trade, as built for a 36-year-old food exporter in Jeddah.

06

Integrations with carriers and ERPs

The systems already in use stay in use. Replacing everything at once is how logistics projects fail.

How we build

How we approach logistics work

Model the exceptions first

Splits, partial deliveries, failed attempts and returns are designed in from the start, not bolted on once operations complain.

The status field must never lie

One source of truth, updated through events rather than overwritten. If the dashboard and the driver’s phone disagree, the whole system loses its authority.

Offline as the default assumption

Depots, basements and rural routes have no signal. Everything queues and reconciles.

Long-horizon maintenance

We have been extending the Venaxx platform for five years. Logistics software is never finished, so it has to be written to be changed.

Arabian Food Corp came to us in 2019 for a brochure. They wanted something their export peers would take seriously. That brochure became the website, then mobile apps, then third-party integrations, then the ERP the business now runs on. We are still working on it.

Venaxx came to us in 2021 for a logistics application and website. We are still working on it — enhancements, new capability, and the steady expansion that happens when a platform is actually being used.

FAQ

Logistics & supply chain questions

Yes, and that is usually the right approach. The Arabian Food Corp ERP integrates the third-party services already in use rather than replacing them — a system people adopt beats a better system they route around.

Yes — driver apps with scanning, proof of delivery and offline queueing, plus the operations view that makes the data useful. Venaxx runs both.

As a first-class outcome rather than an error. Failed attempts, reattempts, partial deliveries and returns each get modelled properly, because these are what operations staff spend most of their time on.

Yes, and it is normally the fastest return on the whole project — self-service tracking removes the largest single source of inbound calls.
