A decentralised exchange with connected wallets
Built in 2023 for a Dubai client: wallet creation and connection, live tracking of holdings, and trading across cryptocurrencies — with custody staying where it belongs, in the user’s hands.
Background
The client
Built in 2023 for a client in Dubai: wallet creation and connection, live tracking of holdings, and trading across cryptocurrencies — with custody staying where it belongs, in the user’s own hands.
Where it started
The challenge
A decentralised exchange has to be safe for people who are not security engineers.
Key handling, wallet connection and transaction signing are the three places where users lose money permanently, and there is no support desk that can reverse any of them. A centralised exchange can undo a mistake. A DEX cannot, by design.
So the interface has to make the irreversible obvious without making the ordinary feel frightening — and those two requirements pull in opposite directions on every screen.
Approach
What we built
We built wallet creation and connection, portfolio tracking across assets, and the trading flow itself.
Throughout, we treated every irreversible action as a place to slow the user down deliberately rather than optimise clicks away. Confirmation before signing, clarity about what is about to happen and what cannot be undone, and no dark patterns anywhere near a transaction. In most products friction is a defect; here, in specific places, it is the feature.
Result
The outcome
The exchange lets users connect wallets, track holdings and trade without surrendering custody at any point. Links are available on request.
Non-custodial trading puts every safety decision in the interface rather than a support desk. Read more about how we approach blockchain and Web3 development, or see the rest of our work.
Under NDA
This build is covered by a non-disclosure agreement, so we do not publish the client name or a link. If you are weighing a similar project we can walk you through it on a call, or share a local APK or IPA for review. The same protection applies to your work with us.
